House Shrine Shadow Box
A Gina's Designs DT Project

Hi Everyone, Kim Here.  I hope you have had a wonderful January so far! Today I am sharing the House Shrine Box available at Gina's Designs.  I really love how this box is so versatile and can be made into any style you'd like. I have chosen to use the Bo Bunny Avenues Collection as my inspirational starting point. On the right front, I have added one of our new chipboard shapes from the Catweed Set.  I have embossed it with the Shabby white powder and then added some more flowers from my stash to create dimension.

On the inside I created the look of a "door" using a cut out from the paper line and one of the door plates available at Gina's Designs in the Door Sets.  I have also added a lamp post from the Lamp Post Set and embossed it with weathered wood. I added some flowers and also cut out some of the shutters from the paper line to add to the sides.

In the photo below, you can see the roof where I've used distress paints in the weathered wood colour. The metal piece is a box corner which I embossed in a shabby white colour.

Another fun embellishment I used was this light bulb which I got from my husband's workshop. I wanted it to look like a porch light, and I am pleased with the effect it created.

At the top I have used one of the small Cottage Windows, which I also embossed.  I've added a Tim Holtz Number plate to complete the look.

I hope you like my project and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hello Everyone, I am here today to share an altered clock I have created using lots of Gina's Designs gorgeous pieces.  This clock is made from Paper-mâché and I have decorated it in a Shabby Chic style.  Now, unfortunately, this clock doesn't work, but that doesn't make it any less fun to have in your room!
I have used the Prima Lyric paper as the backdrop for the clock, and decorated the top with some lovely flowers and embellishments. I also fussy cut some of the images from the paper collection, as you will see in the photos.

Inside the clock I have layered one of the Doilies from the Intricate Doily set, with a clock from the paper line, then some of Gina's clock hands. I cut up some of the Chicken Wire, then embossed and placed it around the hands of the clock.  I topped it off with a metal piece, which I  also embossed using a Shabby Pink Powder.
On the clock face itself, I added some metal numbers to finish the look.

I have gone around the entire frame of the clock with some vintage peachy tan lace, added flowers, more fussy cut sentiments from the paper, and some metal numbers and clock face. I also used one of Gina's Birdcages, which I embossed with some Bronze embossing powder.

Above I have used some of Gina's new Texture Sheets in a Diamond pattern. I cut random shapes, distressed them and then embossed them using the same Bronze embossing powder as the birdcage. I love how it gives a fun mixed media look to the piece.
I have also used one of Gina's new wood charms, which says Memories. I love all the new wood pieces in the store, this is just one of the gorgeous new pieces that are available.

Here you can see the back of the clock, I have used masks and modeling paste all over the clock but you can really see it here. I decided to put a bit of paper embellishments on here just to give a more finished look to the back of the clock.

Here I have placed one of my favorite pieces on the front of the clock to complete the Shabby chic look. I really love this chandelier, it is from the Parisian Shape set, which comes with lots of other fun pieces to play with.   I added more flowers and a charm to finish it off.

Thanks so much for taking the time today to look at my project.

Hello Everyone! Today I would like to share another of Gina's wonderful new products for 2014. This time it's a gorgeous Trim Organizer. I decorated mine in a vintage style, and I'm using it to store my favorite vintage laces.  I really love how functional this is, and it holds 12 Chipboard Spools to wrap with your favorite trims.

I covered each of the chipboard spools in a vintage style paper, distressed the edges,  and used a Paris Stamp from my stash to make them look more authentically Parisian. I went around the edges with my Prima chalk edger to complete the look.

Here is a close up of the Filigree Frame, which I used to mimic a label on the front of the box. I painted the frame with Silks Acrylic Glaze in Nutmeg, then I used some Guilders Paste in African Bronze and Copper on the filigree part, to make it stand out. I painted the center of the frame with some Twinkling H2o's and more of the Nutmeg coloured glaze, then heat embossed a script style stamp in old gold. The wooden letters spell out LACE which I embossed with some Shabby White embossing powder, and are also from my stash.
On each side of the box I used the new Tulip Scroll Corner pieces. I  heat embossed them with Vintage Silver and then again used my Guilders paste in the bronze and copper to give them a totally aged metal look. I used some antique lace around the top of the box for a finished look.
I added some Tim Holtz feet on the bottom.  I love the effect they give, it really ages the whole piece. I used the same treatment on the metal feet with the Guilders Paste as I did the other items on the box to tie them all in. I used some vintage appliques on either side of the Filigree Frame and some large bronze metal corners for a finishing touch.
Here are the lovely chipboard spools you get with your Trim box, adorned with some of my most special laces and trims.
...and a few more...I love these!

I really had a lot of fun with this project, so much so, that I want to order another few of these to store my laces in!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Vintage "LOVE" Valentine Box a Kitty's Scrap Post DT Project

Mini Heart Display Tray a Gina's Designs DT Project for January

Welcome everyone!  Kim here today to share another cross-promotional project from Gina's Designs and The Robin's Nest. Today I have created one of Gina's Mini Heart Display Trays in a Valentine Theme.  I began by lining the tray with papers from The Robin's Nest Wild About U collection.
Below you can see some of the embellishments I have used to decorate my Tray. In the top left section I used some textured vellum over top of the striped paper, in a red damask design.  I then layered on some letters from my stash to represent my husband and my initials, and topped it with a metal crown. I added some flowers, a wooden sentiment and a metal rose from my stash to frame that section. At the top of the tray, I adhered a lovely red rose on top of a metal filigree piece, which I embossed in a vintage white colour,  then added a few bits of ribbon and lace from my stash.
The second photo here, shows the other section on the heart with the velvet damask overlay.  To this section I've added a lovely vintage lady image.  In the image her back is turned, so I've added some tiny little gold wings to her back.

This section below features one of Gina's Intricate Doilies, and a lovely little layered heart from the Valentine Shape Set.  I fussy cut a vintage image to place inside the heart and  then used embossing powder on the chipboard. I also added some glossy accents to the inside, and some white micro beads for texture.

In the section  below, I have used the double heart from the Valentine Shape Set, again embossing the chipboard, adding glossy accents, but this time using the red micro beads sprinkled inside.

These Two hearts below from the Valentine Shape Set are in two pieces, I have used some of the Robin's Nest Velvet Glitter Paper to cover the inside of the heart and then for the little frame, some shabby white embossing powder. I have added some lovely little flowers to accent them.

In this section I have added a key from the Valentine Shape Set, embossed it with some Shabby white embossing powder and added a lovely two toned paper rose. Below that you can see a small metal sentiment from my stash which reads "amour".

Here below is one of the new pieces in Gina's Store. It is part of the Heart String Along set. This one is the Love String Along, and I have placed it in the center of the heart with a paper rose at the top and a vintage cameo from my stash in the center of the string part. The word love has been embossed with a colour called Chinese Red from Ranger.

Here is another full view of my Heart Display Tray. I really love these mini trays they are so much fun to alter and really hold a lot of goodies for embellishing. I hope you like what I have created for you today!

Thanks for stopping by today to take a look, and Happy Valentines Day!

Hello Everyone, and Happy New Year to you! Now that the holidays are over, we can start to think about what is coming up next, which is Valentine's Day. I love this time of year and Gina's Designs has paired up with The Robin's Nest to bring to you some great creations by the two Design Teams.
In keeping with the Valentines Day theme, I have created this super cute Love Wall Art hanging, a fun creation to mark the occasion for that special someone in your life.

The Love Pieces are new from Gina's Store, and I had tons of fun using them to create this wall hanging. I used The Robin's Nest Papers as background on it and also on the little red hearts, from Gina's Valentine Shape Set, you will see mingled in as well.

Once I covered the background with the papers, I layered on the pieces from the Love set. I also used some of Gina's Intricate Doilies  on the "L" and the "E". On the "O" and the "V" I attached some of Gina's newly designed wings from the Wings Assortment Set.

I used various embossing powders to bring out some texture in the piece and some vintage laces from my stash, and four white roses in each corner to frame up the wall hanging.

Here you can see above a close up of one of the new Wings from the Wing Assortment Set, which I embossed and layered with some metal findings from my stash. Then I added one of the little hearts from Gina's Valentine Shape Set, to which I added more of the Robin's Nest Paper.

Above here you can see one of the Intricate Doilies I used to layer under the letter L. I have embossed the edges to give a shabby look and the number 14 is from The Robin's Nest Glittered Alpha and Numbered Sticker Set.

The Corrugated Cardboard from the Love set was so fun to work with, I gave it a light coat of Gesso then added various embossing powders in pinks and gold to pink up the tones in the letters and Wings.

And lastly, above here you can see some of the Robin's Nest paper behind the layers of the Love set and a little metal crown from my stash which I also embellished with some shabby white embossing Powder, and again another of the gorgeous doilies from Gina's Store with some embossing around the edges.

I hope you like what I have created for you today! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!
